The UC & the Bomb class focuses on the UC's deep and decisive involvement in the global military-industrial complex, most salient in its management of the Los Alamos National Laboratory and Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory.
The class reflects the Coalition to Demilitarize the UC's growing capacity to engage students in innovative ways. These classes are entirely student-created and student-led. There are no teachers, only peers. Each class is extremely action-oriented: The emphasis is to empower students to take action on the issues addressed.
This fall (2006) the class is taking place simultaneously at two UC campuses.
