Without a vivid and active imagination, learning about nuclear weapons and foreign policy issues can be dry, boring and confusing at times. Don't let this happen to you! Don't let this happen to others! Use your talent for graphic design to articulate a powerful statement, convey a lot of information in a short amount of time, or even make people laugh. Promote the campaign through drawing an image that we can use as part of a desktop background, t-shirt, screensaver, billboard, album cover, or make your own cartoon, instant messenger icon, and audio player skins.

Pending Design Concepts

An image which captures the following statement: Think outside the bomb.

Find a cool font and colors for "UC Nuclear Free: Safety & Opportunity."

A flash animation movie similiar to those featured on the home page for each action listed under More Ideas for Getting Involved.

A classic beach/surf scene (bright sunny day, blue ocean water, waves crashing, a surfer hunched over working her/his way through a long barrel…) with "Barrels Not Bombs" as the text.

A variation on "buy local" campaigns, this design concept emphasizes the concentration of defense contractors and military installations in California. Have some sort of common food packaging like a milk carton with "Made in California" stamped on it, but containing a nuclear weapon component such as a plutonium pit or bottled water or wine originating near a nuclear power plant and weapons lab.
